ROSS TAYLOR

Bangladesh

Nizam Hawladar, his wife Mahe Noor, and two children live in the largest slum in Bangladesh called Korail. This story focuses on their family, one of tens of thousands of families in Dhaka who are living in the slums. They are one of thousands of "climate refugees" - people who have fled their village home due to impoverished conditions attributed to climate change. They come to the larger cities in search of work, but often end up stuck in slums like Korail for years.
